Vishal Krishna was born and brought up in Chennai even though his family hails from Andhra Pradesh. He completed his primary education from Don Bosco School in Chennai. Even as a school going boy, he acted as a child artist in one movie as his father was the producer of that film.
He later joined Loyola College in Chennai to complete his graduation in Visual Communications. After that, he started his acting career and went on to make his debut in Chellamae in the year 2004. Before that, he had worked as assistant in the movie Vedham.

Career
Vishal started his career in the film industry as a child artist in the year 1989 with the movie Jadikkata Moodi. After this he was back as a hero in the movie Chellamae which was released in 2004. This was a commercial success and established him in the industry. After this, he scored a big hit with Sandakozhi which was directed by Lingusamy.
In the next few years, he was seen in hits like Thimiru and Sivappathigaram. He was also part of average movies like Malaikottai. The film Thaamirabharani got him some good fan following due to his acting skills. It was Satyam in 2008 that got him few awards for his role as a Police Officer.
He Later did movies like Theerada Vilaiyattu Pillai in which he had three heroines and it had very good music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The movie Avan Ivan directed by Bala in the year 2011 got him huge recognition and it was also a commercial success. He was back to commercial entertainers in the next few years like Vedi and Samar.
