Dave Mason was born in Worcester, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom. His full name is David Thomas Mason. His zodiac sign is Taurus. Mason gets his fame with famous rock band Traffic. After that eventually he works with many other musicians. Mason is known for giving many hit albums. One of the best song of him is “Feelin’ Alright” which was recorded by Traffic in 1968. After that many other musician created different version of this song. From all these versions Joe Cocker’s version went hit in 1969. Other song “Hole in My Shoe” was also went hit and created by him.
He was lead member of group Traffic. He left the group after releasing his first album Mr. Fantasy in 1967. After he rejoined in halfway for their next albums namd Traffic in 1968 and after that he again left the group. After that Traffic was reunited but without Mason. Mason rejoined with the band third time and went on tour in 1971 and playing on Welcome to the Canteen.
Mason was very good friend of Jimi Hendrix. Jimi started his career in 1966. Hendrix released his own version of Olympic Studios, South West London in which Mason playing 12-string acoustic guitar. this song was launched with the album Electric Ladyland in September 1968. Mason also sings a song on “Crosstown Traffic”. Mason was seen in the Rolling Stones album Beggars Banquet in 1968 where he played the ”Shehnai” and ”bass drum” on Street Fighting Man. Mason travelled along with Eric Clapton and George Harrison for Delaney and Bonnie and Friends in 1969–1970. he was labeled to be the second guitarist for Derek and the Dominos. He performed at his first gig at the London Lyceum but left the group traffic soon after that.
After leaving Traffic, Mason started his solo career. His first solo song was famous named “Just for You”. He released an song with Cass Elliot in 1970. After that he officially launched his major solo album Alone Together in 1970 which touch No. 42 on the Billboard chart. In April 1977 he traveled and recorded album “Let It Flow” with keyboardist Mike Finnigan, guitarist Jim Krueger, bassist Gerald Johnson and drummer Rick Jaeger. Mason also played role in the film Skatetown, U.S.A.,where he performed two songs in a roller disco as well as writing and performed the film’s theme song. Mason released “Old Crest on a New Wave” In 1980 and had one single create the charts “Save Me,” this failure of the album caused Mason leaving his label Columbia. he released two albums, “Some Assembly Required” and “Two Hearts” in 1987.
In 1997, Mason was casted as member of “Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band” but unfortunately due to some reasons he was dropped from band before tour. Mason again reunited with his Traffic bandmate Jim Capaldi for The 40,000 Headmen Tour. He released DVD named “Dave Mason: Live at Sunrise” which is recording of his tour of the Sunrise Musical Theater in Sunrise, Florida. in 2004 he established a new electric guitar company with his business partner and industrial designer Ravi Sawhney.
He released his first studio album in more than twenty years in 2008, named “26 Letters 12 Notes”. after this he came with another music album titled “Future’s Past” in 2014. As per some reports in 2018 he was continue perfoming in U.S.
