Osman Mir was born on May 22, 1974, in Vayor, Kutch, state Gujarat, India. He is 45 Years old as in 2019. Usman Mir’s family was a lower-class family. His father was a tabla player in Gujarati folk called Santwani and Bhajan. Usman Mir has been interested in music since his childhood. He began to learn Tabla from his father at a very young age and At the age of 13, he began presenting Tabla the stage on live occasions with his father. He started his career as Tabla player with Shree Narayan Swami.
The beginning of the Tabla was just the beginning of Usman Mir. He keeps learning the basic lessons of singing from his father and then he was officially trained by Guru Ismail Datar. Once in a musical concert on the auspicious day of Guru Purnima he went to play the tabla at the ashram of the venerable Sri Moraribapu. There they had the opportunity to sing. The first song in front of his audience was ‘Dil Kash Tara Nakshatra Hai’. It was from this time that his golden journey as a singer began. His first concert was organized in Ahmedabad, organized by Pradeep Dave, Usman Mir has the ability to perform almost any kind of music, Bhajan, Ghazal, semi-classical, smooth, Gujarati-folk.
He has provided playback for about 58 Gujarati movies. It has performed worldwide in 25 countries. His songs are influenced by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Mehndi Hasan, Jagjit Singh, and Ghulam Ali Khan. They are their ideals.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali heard this song almost eighteen years ago in the voice of Gujarati folk singer Heavenly Sri Hemu Ghai. And this had become his dream song.
